Oda Clan

The Oda clan were once a fierce clan of nomadic horsemen who lived on the great deserts and plains that is the Wind Country. They were rewarded for fighting for the ruler of the Wind Country who rewarded them with vast riches. So it came to be that when Sunakagure was founded, it was the Oda clan that helped fund the founding as well as becoming one of the original clans to help found Sunakagure. Gradually what was once a nomadic clan of horsemen became settled and with their new riches and lands became one of the most respected clans in Suna.

Fierce wars and battles gradually led to the dwindling of the clan until only the shinobi (ninja) of the clan still remain. The riches however were passed on and in many ways they had become a noble clan. Oda Washi and his family are one of the few Oda left due to the clan's rules of only marrying those of similar noble heritage.

Characteristics: The clan used to be well respected by many shinobi however the past grandeur has faded a bit as their numbers and riches dwindle. All men in the Oda clan wear long white robes sometimes with red strips. It is considered honourable to wear the robes on all occasions including battle although this has also caused some problems.

Oda Washi's father, Oda Nobuyuki is the current head of the clan and manages all the internal and political affairs of the clan. Washi is the current heir although it is unknown if his father had changed it to someone else since Washi's abandonment of Sunagakure.

Name: Ash Spread Technique

Description: The user inhales air and blows out a small cloud of hot ash. The ash is hot but does little damage to the opponent except hurting their eyes and lungs. This ash is able to become ignited but the cloud is only big enough to cover one person for a few seconds.

Description: If the ash from the Ash Spread Technique is inhaled by the opponent, then the user is able to send them into a genjutsu. This genjutsu makes the opponent think that hot ash is falling from the air, the ash burns the opponent painfully if it touches them. This genjutsu does not transport the user to another world or place but instead places an illusion of falling ash inside the real world. The falling ash is slow but is mostly unavoidable unless there is shelter of some kind such as trees. (The ash will fall for three posts.)

Description: The user makes an ash clone of themselves by quickly blowing out ash. This replica is unable to use jutsu and is stationary. Once attacked, the clone explodes into white ash, possibly blocking the opponent's vision temporarily.

Description: This genjutsu requires a simple point of the fingers, no handseals or eye contact is needed. The genjutsu is hard to spot as it is very realistic and to the enemy's eyes nothing will have changed, however if there is a successful hit on genjutsu Washi then Washi will burst into white cherry blossoms alerting the enemy of genjutsu.

Weaknesses: This genjutsu is quite simple to break out of for anybody above Genin-level once they realise they are in a genjutsu, a simple Kai will suffice.

Description: The user blows out powerful wind causing a large cage of wind to form around himself to defend against other attacks, the wind is very powerful and will slice through conventional weapons and blow away elemental jutsu of similar strength and below. The user cannot move out of the cage however until he stops the technique, restricting his movement temporarily.

Description: The user blows a large jet of intensely hot white flames towards the target. The flames quickly materialise into a white hot lion which is able to move like a fireball into a retreating enemy and engulf them in super hot flame.

Weakness: Because it is stronger than other katons it also uses more chakra proportionate to its power and like other katons is counterable by suitons of similar strength.

Description: The user forms a long series of handseals and a powerful tornado is formed around the target. The wind inside and around the tornado is ferocious and very close ninja may be sucked into its vortex and thrown high up to be torn by the high speed wind.

Weakness: Requires a long series of handseals and is not ideal in close range. It also uses up a fairly big proportion of the user's chakra. The tornado is not particulary big and only people very close to it will be sucked in.
