Leaf Village Gate

"By making you two think with your brain while your using shunshin, I am essentially teaching you how a Jounin will sometimes think. You see ninja must use their brain to utilise their techniques effectively, there is no point dodging if you find yourself landing in thick mud. You must learn to think quickly."

Washi having finished lecturing the genins decided to stop throwing shuriken. He quickly formed the handseals for Kage Bunshin no Jutsu and made two shadow clones.

"These two clones will shunshin at 20% of my usual shunshin speed and attempt to catch you two. If your caught consider your life forfeit," said Washi, "As an example..."

Washi quickly made another shadow clone and sent it walking outside the village gate.

"Bunshin Daibakuha!"

There was a loud explosion and some smoke...

Matsu stared at Washi sensei as if he has gone mad. Matsu decided to Shunshin further than where the shurikens were which he is about 46 meters from Washi and his clones. Matsu decided to help his teammate by saying "Kojima be careful Washi sensei still might set of the shuriken" He almost wish he didn't seeing as Kojima is his rival but still has some kindness towards his comrades.

*Kojima frowned, chewing on his inner lip as he stopped not far from where Washi-sensei made the clones, breathing slow and steady, looking around. there weren't too many tagged shuriken laying around, there was minimal risk there. Unsure just how fast Washi-sensei could move, 20% could be a bit fast for him. assuming the likely hood they were faster, a straight line wouldn't serve at all, it was too simple and they'd catch up... The best choice was erratic movement. At the very least, the small moment it would take them to determine which random direction each jump took from the last would buy him a little time. They had to follow his movements...he only had to keep moving. Knowing Washi-sensei wasn't going to give them any freebies, Kojima used the shunshin technique before the clones began to move, leaping backwards around 18 meters, then diagonally up and back further 20 meters, landing on teh branch of a tree for only a moment*

"One clone for each of you and Kojima you have the right idea. Even at 20% of my usual Shunshin speed these clones are still probably faster then you," Washi told them, "I'll just take a rest now while you two are busy preserving your own lives."

The Jounin smiled a bit knowing that the two had atleast shown signs of improvement before retreating closer to the Village and sitting under the shade of a tree.

Matsu decided to wait until the last moment to Shunshin so he won't waste to much energy.
"Kojima good luck" Said Matsu truly hoping he and his teammate would succede. The clone came right next to Matsu and quickly Shushined to the middle of the field then to the left about 34 meters away waiting for it to come for him again.

*Kojima bit his lip a little hardly having time to listen to Washi-sensei, seeing as he landed on the branch a brief flicker, barely noticable, and the clone was more than half way to him. taking in a sharp breath Kojima shunshined again leaping from the branch he was on to another around 20 meters away this time, almost falling off the branch but able to push off again before he lost his balance, using his blurry moment in the air to balance himself, landing on the ground 17 meters away, p ushing off again breathing steadily as he went, almost afraid to even look behind and check to see how well the clone was keeping up. He wondered briefly as he made his jumps, random and varied, If since washi-sensei was resting, the exploding tags would no longer activate. he decided to test this theory and jumped towards one 22 meters away, pushing off as soon as his feet hit the ground, not wanting to get blown to bits, but thinking that if they were still active, it might just catch the pursuing clone in its blast, though he didnt consider it likely*

The clone chasing Matsutsu began to close in as Matsutsu once more shunshined to the middle. This time the clone was inches away from holding onto him before chasing him once more.

Meanwhile the explosive tag on the shuriken that Kojima had pushed off on activated, nearly blowing off the genin's feet and the clone stopped before continuing the chase once more.

*Kojima bit his lip hard as the blast erupted, the force throwing him off balance a little and he rolled forward as he landed, catching himself on his hands and springing forward onto his feet again. The clone had more or less skipped the step with the exploding shuriken and was already headed straight for Kojima. he felt the clone's fingers graze him as he quickly used the technique again leaping backwards and behind the clone, then spun and took off into a tree again. a little winded from the explosion, he concentrated on calming his breathing as he continued to jump between 20 and 25 feet, backwards, side to side, upwards, avoiding the clone with his random movement, though it was never far behind. What with having to be constantly on the move, Kojima was glad that it was something simple as breathing that kept him going, he hardly felt tired and his continued flow of chakra made it easy for him to repeatedly perform the jutsu well*

Matsu then had the clone right next to him and he shunshined away to the tree on the other side of the clearing. Matsu began thinking on how he can dodge the clones without getting blown up he then decides to get his bone sword out to keep him moving and able to shift weight quickly. The clone then got close again and he shunshined to the the grass near the middle of the field sticking his bone in the ground and taking a sharp Shunshine to a tree two over from the one he was just at. thinking the clone can't make as good cuts as Washi.

Washi while sitting in the shade of the large and sturdy oak tree was gradually being more and more amused by the two genin's attempts to flee the clones. He knew that at any one moment his clones could speed up or begin exploding but decided that they would get better faster if the element of danger was still present. Washi almost grinned when he saw Kojima testing the explosive tag.

"Let's make this a little harder shall we?" said Washi to himself, "Kage Bunshin No jutsu!"
Two more exact replicas appeared alongside the real Washi and they then started to shunshin towards the two genins.

The dust trail temporarily made Washi's vision blurry and he decided to make them aware of the new difficulty,

"Two more! 25% This time. Have fun!"

"Crap" Matsu knew Washi was going to push them to the limit. Matsu decided to stop waiting for the clone because they are now much faster than before. He Shunshines to about half way on the tree on the other side of the clearing digging his bone in the tree to stop and then Shunshine up to the top branch on the tree hoping this would give him a second to catch his breath. Matsu knew he had about seven real shunshins left in him due to his small amount of chakra.

"Hmm they should be running out of chakra by now. Of course Kojima has a special ability but I'll end the training now." thought Washi to himself.

The two 20% clones suddenly stopped and started forming hand seals while the two 25% clones continued chasing them, gaining with every shunshin.

"Fuuton: Washi!" said Washi's clones as many chakra eagles formed and surrounded both genins.

*Kojima frowns hearing Washi-sensei's voice through the blurred motion as he struggles to stay ahead of the clone. then looking up he sees another right in front of him and he dodges quickly to the side. This changes things, he thought. where before it was a chase, now the two clones could work together, one could wait while the other herded, they could corner him, come at him from both sides... random movements were'nt good enough. He had to devise a pattern ,some sort of strategy. barely escaping with the next few shunshin, he felt fingers close aro und his arm, but he wrenched his arm free as he leapt away again, breathing a little faster in his panic. glancing back he saw one of the clones transform into eagles. he gasped softly remembering his Genjutsu training, and used shunshin again, traveling near 28 meters*

"Whats going on" said Matsu as he didn't bother fighting these eagles. Matsu then thought how much longer it will take for Koku to get to the gate so we can leave for Sunakagure.

"Alright guys training is over!" yelled Washi so that they could hear him above the cries of the eagles.

The two clones each caught their respective target but did not explode. While the eagles helped herd the genin into that position.

"I think our last comrade has arrived!"
